Chapter 6

Hey Lily's 🩷

yes yes it's me, back on stckπŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€

The village fair was a sea of colors under the twilight sky. For Meera, who had spent her life working, this was a dream. She looked radiant in a simple cotton saree, her long black hair braided with a string of jasmine. Every step she took was accompanied by the chan-chan of the silver anklets Abhiraj had given her.

Aditya and Jhanvi were running ahead, excited by the stalls. Meera struggled to keep up in the crowd, her small 5'2" frame being pushed by the villagers.

Suddenly, a heavy, warm hand gripped her waist, pulling her flush against a solid chest.

"Stay close," Abhiraj's voice rumbled near her ear. He didn't let go. His grey eyes scanned the crowd like a hawk, warning any man who dared to look at his wife. His protective grip was tight-possessive.

πŸ₯€The Bangle Stall

They stopped at a stall overflowing with glass and metal bangles. Abhiraj's gaze didn't go to the colorful glass ones. He pointed to a set of heavy, gold-polished metal bangles that were lined with tiny, delicate bells-matching her anklets.

"Those," he commanded the seller.

Meera looked at them, confused. "ji, I already have many-"

"I didn't ask," he interrupted, his voice dropping to a low, dark tone. He took her small hand in his large one. The contrast of his tanned, muscular hand against her fairy skin was striking. He slowly slid the bangles onto her wrist, his thumb grazing her pulse point.

He leaned in, his shadow completely covering her. "I like the sound you make when you move, Meera. I want that sound to belong only to me."

Meera's breath hitched. She saw a flicker of something dark and hungry in his grey eyes-a side of the "Storm" she hadn't seen before.

πŸ₯€The Confrontation

As they walked further, a group of rowdy village men, emboldened by local liquor, blocked their path. One of them stared at Meera with a dirty grin. "The Thakur has found himself a real gem, hasn't he? Look at that skin..."

The air around Abhiraj turned ice-cold. Meera felt his muscles turn to steel.

He didn't argue. He handed his shawl to Aditya without looking back. "Take the girls to the jeep. Now."

"Bhaiya..." Jhanvi whispered in fear.

"Go!" Abhiraj roared.

As Meera was led away, she turned back. She saw Abhiraj-the man who prayed to Mahadev every morning-unleash his "anger issues." He didn't just fight; he was ruthless. He moved with a terrifying grace, protecting her honor with his fists.

πŸ₯€The Build-up to the Night

When they finally returned to the mansion, the house was silent. Abhiraj entered their room later, his knuckles bruised, his shirt slightly torn. He looked raw, powerful, and dangerous.

Meera was waiting with a bowl of warm water and medicine. As she approached him to clean his wounds, the chime of the bangles and anklets filled the quiet room.

Abhiraj grabbed her wrist, stopping her mid-air. The sound of the bells echoed. His eyes were dark, his breathing heavy.

"I told you," he whispered, his voice husky with a mix of pain and desire. "That sound... it does things to my head, Priyatama (Beloved). It makes me want to forget my prayers."
